Objectives

The project should lead to the fulfillment of three project goals through the implementation of various activities. The goals have been defined before the project started. The first objective is to analyze the conditions of food production, the consumption of various food products and the distribution strategies, especially the transport modalities. The students should get to know these in their own country and in the partner country and especially discuss the sustainability aspect of these. The second goal focuses on the creativity and solution orientation of the Austrian and Spanish students. They are asked to find realistic, future-oriented and sustainable solutions to different problems. In this context, the Austrian students have, for example, dealt with a newspaper article that informs about "future food" such as insects. The third goal is pursued during mobility. This involves improving the participants' English skills. The focus is on oral communication, but written skills are also to be improved through various group activities.

Background

Since our school is a vocational school with a focus on gastronomy, nutrition, health and social management and business, project goals were selected that fit these topics. Important aspects are future orientation and sustainability. These are addressed in various subjects such as natural sciences, geography and economics, business administration, nutrition and health management. Furthermore, these topics are dealt with in English classes in connection with other topics (e.g. Food Trends). Thus, the topic of Our Future Food fits well with the subjects we teach. Our students have to take an exam in English at the end of their school curriculum. Therefore, they benefit from every opportunity to practice English. Especially the oral communication in English is being trained by the project. This is therefore a very good link between the project and our school programm. In the curriculum, the development of own ideas is also mentioned several times, which should be supported by the project.
