Objectives

An important concern of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna is to enable all of its members—meaning students as well as all teaching, research, and administrative personnel—to partake in Erasmus+ mobility subject to the interest and approval of their desired partner institutions and in consultation with their mdw superiors, doing so under the best possible circumstances and with their newly acquired knowledge flowing back into the mdw. To this end, all of the involved departments and organisational units are working constantly to improve the underlying conditions, make necessary (programme-specific) adaptations, and realise smoother processes so that these undertakings may succeed for everyone in a way that is friction-free. Priorities for us here include adherence to the principle of equality and fairness, inclusion, low-emission travel, recognising and encouraging synergies (including with BIPs, KA2 projects, and the EUA IN.TUNE), supporting innovative approaches, and effecting far-reaching digitisation of administrative processes. We likewise recognise the value of incoming mobility activities and make efforts to provide Erasmus+ guests with pleasant, inspiring, and instructive stays at our institution.
