The University of Vienna views internationalisation as a vital component of its strategic development. The Erasmus+ KA131 programme significantly supports the university’s internationalisation goals. It is central to promoting student and teacher mobility, enabling exchanges with numerous partner universities within and beyond the EU. Erasmus+ stays for students as well as for teaching and administrative staff are a key element for the university to position itself as an internationally oriented institution. On an individual level, the university aims to offer students, staff, and researchers opportunities to gain international experience, expand their European networks, and develop new skills. In the 2022 project, the university placed a specific emphasis on student mobility. The opportunities for students to go abroad via short-term mobility have been significantly expanded and will also be focused on in subsequent years, in order to enable more students to gain international experience. Additionally, as a member of the European University Alliance Circle U., the university plans to prioritize and enhance mobility within the alliance, making it a significant focus in the coming years.
