Objectives

The Erasmus+ programme is a significant part of the Internationalisation Strategy of the University of Innsbruck based on the Development Plan 2022-2027. For the University of Innsbruck "internationalisation" has always been natural and more then just a word. Mainly because of the location of Innsbruck in the center of Europe and very close to Germany and Italy an international atmosphere is always present. This can be also underlined by numbers: about 40% of the university members, students and staff, come from abroad. Therefore, the university community unites people with many different backgrounds. The aim is not only to hold on to this high level of internationalisation but also to develope it further and to add new dimensions to it. One of these dimensions is the European University Alliance, Aurora, where the University of Innsbruck is part of since 2020. The alliance closely corresponse with the Erasmus+ programme and generates new facets of it. Therefore one key aspect of internationalisation is "internationalisation @home" and all sorts of blended formats. The goal is to offer a wide range opportunities for all individuals, working or studying at the University of Innsbruck. In this regard, the recognition of courses and the measuring of outputs is central.
