Mobility is a core element of internationalization since spending time in another country is a particularly effective means of acquiring international and intercultural skills. It is our objective to ensure that all members of the university are able to enjoy the benefits of mobility, where possible.We are therefore aiming to increase participation in structured mobility programs, as well as promoting and expanding opportunities for mobility within existing university cooperations. With regards to the Erasmus programme the Medical University of Innsbruck has continued to pursue objectives as to establish further Erasmus partnerships with other universities, to take further steps to simplify the credit transfer process and to increase staff mobility. The Erasmus programme makes an imortant contribution towards reaching our goals in internationalisation. The participation in the program helps us to build new partnerships and fields of cooperation, to keep and improve them and to fulfil the required numbers of mobilities. It is with pleasure that we see how interested students are in taking part in the Erasmus Programme, thus being able to gain new experience and to train intercultural understanding in themedical-scientific context.
