The University of Applied Arts Vienna takes on the challenge of positively influencing art, research, and society, facing global challenges. Teachers and researchers, students, alumni, employees, and partners unite as a collective that takes a stand for an open society, applying artistic and scientific competences as the key to furthering that goal. We invent new forms of work, education, art, and science. The Angewandte lives internationality as an integral part of university life, meaning that it is not regarded as an additional field of work but rather as part of all activities and measures. This includes connecting networks of expertise involved with international composite projects or high levels of competence in international discourses in art and science, as well as internationally-mixed student and teacher groups. All exchange programs offered ensure that the level of education, work, and research is in line with other internationally well-known universities through a steady contribution to openness, actively fostering innovation, and anticipating future challenges.
