Grenzenlos is organising international projects and intercultural exchanges for 75 years. In the last years, we dedicated our trainings to the topics of civil courage, human rights, peace-work and crisis management. To continue our path and work towards our goals of the accreditation, we wanted to address the issues of cyber violence, gender-based violence and extremism in international volunteering and daily life to raise awareness on the topic while also empowering youth workers to be able to address cases of violence and extremism in their work. Within the frame of this budget request, we organised three training courses: Anti-Extremism Training; Prevent Gender based Violence Training and Safe Internet to End Cyber Violence Training. With the three training courses we wanted to invite participants to speak actively and share their experience on a specific topic with the group by resorting to non-formal learning. With our activities we’ve aimed to encourage youth workers to use what they have learnt in their daily life and in their work as well as sharing their new knowledge and skills to other people. The training courses aligned with both the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European Youth Goals. We provided participants with opportunities for self-reflection and discussion, as well as a platform to identify and address the lack of opportunities and information related to youth projects combating extremism and violence. Furthermore, we encouraged them to develop their own projects tailored to their specific contexts. Through these activities, we explored various tools and methods that can be applied in their volunteering and daily activities. The training courses aimed to - Promote dialogue and understanding on the topic of extremism, gender-based violence and cyber violence - Provide tools on how to identify and address the main drivers of extremism, gender-based violence and cyber violence - Enable youth workers to raise awareness on extremism, gender-based violence and cyber violence - Empower youth workers on how to respond to cases of extremism, gender-based violence and cyber violence, focus on a survivor centred approach and try different methods on how to re-/act in public life - Implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals as well as European Youth Goals Grenzenlos prioritizes inclusion in all our projects. Therefore, these trainings were made accessible to participants with physical disabilities and other marginalized groups.
