The project aimed to give youngsters from different countries an opportunity to gain sportive, cultural and educational experience and promoting their long-time participation in both sports and society. While gender equality is written in the Treaty on European Union (Article 3.3), it is still a work in progress. Many inequalities between men and women, as well as many gender stereotypes, are still present in theEuropean society in general, as well as in sports specifically. Therefore a special focus was Gender Equality (in sports), in accordance with the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls). Youth suffered severely from the global Covid-19-pandemic in form of less mobility, loneliness, fewer social contacts (https://www.eurofound.europa.eu/publications/report/2021/impact-of-covid-19-on-young-people-in-the-eu). An objective of the FICEP Camp was therefore to counteract these negative impacts by promoting youth mobility and openness to others. The youngsters were able to make intercultural and sportive experiences. The context of sports, as a "universal language", is great to facilitate the youngsters to build international relationships, since a small amount of common knowledge about a particular sport or sportive activity, is enough to form teams, work together and get to know each other in a relaxed setting. In combination with workshops, and other group activities, the youngsters will be encouraged to get to know each other and learn about each others cultures. The sportive context also promotes an active, healthy lifestyle. Futhermore the camp aimed to strengthen the bond and cooperation between the participating sports federation, by working together on the success of the camp both in the organisation as well as in the implementation of it.
