The project idea of Made in YOU(th) has been built on and designed to address the modern non-formal educational and social needs of disadvantaged young people: young people who have not succeeded in their school life, have been experiencing frustration, faced different troubles and the need to find new ways to get out of deadlocks linked to the past, to the future, in a creative way. During the youth exchange, we used art and its methods to allow participants to find a good way to meet harmony, contributing to balance and reaching spiritual progress. Made in YOU(th) project linked European values and cultures, united people, fostered peace and cooperation, promoted the European ideal, and allowed all participants to discover new ideas focused on Art. Throughout the whole project duration we deeply reflected on the different levels of values starting at the top, the European values, which connect us all and ending with personal level of values. Through this youth exchange, we achieved different objectives, such as: ● Provided free access to youngsters facing fewer opportunities; ● Promoted youth activism and active citizenship among young people and informed youth about all the opportunities they have available; ● Tested innovative methods in non-formal education, focusing on creativity; ● Encouraged an intensive exploration of values and value formation; ● Supported the development of professional and leadership skills among young people; ● Fostered the common use of European traditional Art and cultural heritage; ● Underlined the fact that Art is a tool for expression and reflection on values; ● Carried out the exploitation and promotion of the project's results. To sum up, with the participation of many people from different countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey), participants found out about the values of European Citizenship, as well as the country specific values and their own personal values. We transformed the knowledge into creative art work, which was presented to the public during the final presentation in Klaffer (Austria). We created a place where the basic ideas and values of the European Union, the ideas of peace and solidarity can be lived and carried further, empowering youth with fewer opportunities.
