The project aimed to deepen academic cooperation and strengthen institutional capacity between CEU and partners in Ukraine, Georgia, and Israel. It focused on supporting student and staff mobility to foster intercultural skills, research collaboration, and alignment with European higher education standards. These goals were fully in line with CEU’s internationalization strategy and the Erasmus+ priorities of inclusion and academic excellence. However, implementation was significantly impacted by external crises, including the war in Ukraine and the outbreak of conflict in Israel. Travel restrictions, visa denials, and personal safety concerns led to cancellations and deferrals. These challenges were beyond the control of CEU or its partners. Despite this, the mobilities that took place had strong academic and personal impact. They facilitated knowledge exchange, strengthened partnerships, and provided valuable lessons in managing mobility under crisis conditions. The project demonstrated CEU’s adaptability and commitment to sustaining international cooperation. It laid groundwork for future collaboration and highlighted the need for flexibility in KA171 projects involving unstable regions.
