Objectives

This project was designed to deepen and expand academic cooperation between the University of Innsbruck in Austria and six higher education institutions in Israel. Since the establishment of the Austria-Israel Academic Network Innsbruck (AIANI) in 2013, Israel has become a strategic priority within the University’s internationalisation agenda. With this project, we aimed to enhance institutional partnerships, foster mutual learning and cultural understanding, and provide students and staff on both sides with meaningful academic and intercultural experiences. A central goal of the project was to offer structured, transparent, and inclusive mobility opportunities that reflect academic excellence and promote equity. By supporting both student and staff mobility across disciplines and study cycles, we sought to create a win-win situation for all institutions involved. The selection of our partners ranging from large research universities to applied science institutions and teacher training colleges was based on complementarity in academic fields, geographic diversity, and a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity within their student and staff populations. Our objective was to build lasting academic bridges between institutions.
