Internationalisation is one of the key objectives of TU Graz. The university aims at intensifying collaboration with dedicated partners and increasing the mobility of students and staff. On the one hand TU Graz students and staff were given opportunities to spend time at partner institutions in Canada, the US, China and Japan enabling them to gain international experience beyond the borders of Europe, to acquire and exchange scientifc knowledge and increase intercultural competence and foreign language skills. On the other hand this Call made it possible for studetnts and staff from the partner universities to spend time at TU Graz. Balanced student mobility is necessary for collaboration with partners in Canada, the US and Japan. Participating in the Erasmus+ ICM project has significantly contributed to this goal. Thanks to Erasmus+ ICM, students and staff from the partner universties were able to broaden their academic as well as cultural understanding of Austria and the EU. Not only could the existing partnerships be strengthened and cooperation be intensified and further optimised but it was possible to learn about higher education in Austria and get to know people, language and culture.
