The Paris Lodron University of Salzburg’s (PLUS) four internationalization priorities are: to foster high quality international networks and active partnerships with leading HEIs around the world and to develop strategic partnerships; to develop sustainable, long-term collaborations such as joint teaching projects and double degree programs; to play an active role in further developing the European Higher Education Area, and to increase the focus on international collaborations beyond Europe, PLUS Development Plan 2022-24), all of which underpin PLUS’s role as a globally active research and teaching hub. PLUS has, on the one hand, a wide range of globally active academic departments. Most of these collaborations have successfully acquired funding from various sources over the years and have continued to develop positively. On the other hand, centralized administration is provided by the International Office. This enables projects like the present one to contribute to the implementation of the internationalization strategies of PLUS and its global partners.
