The first project goal was to offer inclusive mobility opportunities to students and staff to best prepare them for the challenges of the global working environment in medicine, create sustainable networks with international experts, and enhance medical education, research and practice. The second goal was to support incoming mobility to enrich the general scientific discourse and position the Medical University of Graz as an attractive educational and research facility. Thirdly, increasing the number of internationals coming to Med Uni Graz/partners should also contribute to Internationalization@Home and strengthen the consciousness of students and staff that they are part of the international (scientific) community. As academic cooperation lies at the core of a successful university, the fourth goal was to position Med Uni Graz as an attractive cooperation partner in all areas of research and teaching. Another project goal was also a more balanced exchange and reciprocal mobility which is the foundation for successful partnerships. Due to a lack of funding and less fortunate socio-economic situations, some partners had not been able to send students or staff to Med Uni Graz before the project and funding became available.
