The project sought to achieve four key objectives with a view to fostering inclusive and accessible lifelong learning: • Promotion of lifelong learning: by encouraging immigrant adults without formal educational or vocational qualifications to engage in education. With a growth mindset these learners are able to successful participate in lifelong learning activities. • Social inclusion and active citizenship were achieved through the provision of the necessary skills and confidence to facilitate integration into EU societies, labor markets, and communities, ensuring greater participation and independence. • The project also focused upskilling adult educators. To this end, training was provided on inclusive teaching methods, cultural awareness, and coaching techniques. The training enabled educators to better support diverse learners. • More inclusive curriculum in educational institutions by adapting their programs to cater to the needs of migrant learners. This will include addressing language barriers, cultural differences, and vocational aspirations, ensuring higher participation and success rates in lifelong learning.
The project was developed to address the need to boost the participation in lifelong learning of adult learners with a migrant history who lack formal educational or vocational qualifications. Research and statistical data show that immigrants face significantly higher risks of unemployment, social exclusion and educational dropout than natives. These challenges are often due to limited access to learning opportunities, language barriers, socio-economic disadvantages and a lack of tailored educational approaches that consider their specific backgrounds and experiences. The European Commission's Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion (2021-2027) is clear: We must promote inclusive education to bridge this gap.3L Mindset directly addresses these issues by bridging the gap between adult education institutions and migrant learners, equipping educators with tools and strategies to effectively engage, motivate and support this target group. A core element of the project is the promotion of a growth mindset towards lifelong learning. This approach will promote greater educational inclusion, employability and overall social integration.
