Objectives

The aims of GOP were to reduce pupil absenteeism and school drop-out rates, create sustainable and eco-responsible behaviour among participants, to update learning tools and methods, and in particular to improve the quality of teaching. To strengthen European citizenship. Develop young people's professional and social skills to give them better access to the job market. Enhance our school's projects by bringing in best practice from outside (particularly in terms of the inclusion of pupils with special needs), and by integrating pupils into a variety of work situations and contexts. Increase the attractiveness of our school's courses to reduce school drop-out and ensure that students get a degree and the the ability to be geographically mobile so that they can find work wherever it is.

Background

The Gembloux Horticultural Institute has been promoting Erasmus+ projects for over 10 years. This "Greenskills for our planet" - "GOP" mobility project coordinated by our school is a follow-up of the "Nature, Nature II and Nature III" consortium initiated in 2015 by the CCGPE and successfully renewed three times in a row. Over these 10 years, we have seen a significant improvement in the motivation of pupils and teachers thanks to their participation in these exchanges. With this project, our school wishes to strengthen the European dimension in the training courses leading to qualifications in order to combat school drop-out, improve academic results and increase opportunities for pupils with special needs. We also want to integrate new practices in the 'green' sector, such as sustainable development and the fight against climate change, into their training.
