Our objectives were as follows: - promote the acquisition of new professional skills related to citrus work (in the broad sense of the term) in order to enhance the CVs of the students concerned by the project. The results of the evaluations will be included in their award scheme at the end of the school year; - develop socio-professional skills and abilities: ability to overcome the barriers of communication outside the known framework; integration into new work teams; adaptation to geographical remoteness and community life. - relaunch the "European Projects" dynamic (in the broad sense of the term) within our Cefa, which was stopped by the Coronavirus pandemic. - expand our European partnership through a permanent collaboration with Domaine Gannac in Menton.
The CEFA of Namur is one of the entities of the Asty-Moulin School Centre. Opened in 1984, it is attached to the Ecole Professionnelle Centre scolaire Asty-Moulin and now has nearly 230 young people in all sections. It is therefore a small structure with relatively limited financial resources. CEFA is a secondary vocational alternance education organisation offering training at school (2 days a week) and in the company (3 days a week). The trainer of the Horticulture option, Maxime Mathelart, wanted to be able to introduce his students to the work of citrus fruits and more particularly to anything related to the cultivation of lemon. This is impossible in Belgium and has been a plus in the student curriculum. In fact, students mainly do gardening work in Belgium. Being able to do an Erasmus internship in a field such as that of the Gannac family, in Menton, was a great opportunity to open up to other professional realities as part of their future job.
