Need for language skills to improve knowledge of English and thus promote mobility, flexibility and employability in Belgium and within the European Union 3. Make students aware of civic values related to "living together": tolerance, openness to others, solidarity 4. Need to expand internationally by developing management skills and giving a European dimension to training. 5. Raising awareness of environmental changes and climatic challenges, this dimension is particularly addressed on the Reunion island, but also in Malta.

Background

ICTFF is a technical and vocational school attended by 95% of young people with an immigrant background. Located in Schaerbeek, it is in a disadvantaged socio-economic area of Brussels. Our students also live in areas where their home community is very present. The financial, family and cultural pressure is often very strong and deprives them, consciously or not, of opportunities to experience other horizons. Our students are often in difficulty at school, with a poorly constructed learning project and weak parental support. Lateness, absenteeism, dropping out of school, failures and loss of confidence are common. Already weak in French, our students also face many difficulties in learning modern languages. They rarely have the opportunity to practice English. In addition, students in vocational education often show insufficient mastery of climate knowledge and often show a lack of awareness of ecological concerns. They live in unenviable situations and their immediate concerns are often elsewhere.
