Objectives

Haute Ecole Louvain en Hainaut - HELHa is a University College in the French speaking part of Belgium, organising Bachelor and Master Degrees in seven study domains to around 10.000 students. The institution's strategic plan includes a section promoting the mobility of students and staff, and the internationalization of its curricula. HELHa encourages, supports and puts in place the structures needed to organize mobility during the study cycle of its students for an academic mobility or a traineeship. Some study programmes are better suited to mobility than others, although all students are treated equally and fairly: information, selection, follow-up, financial support, reports, evaluation and academic recognition. Erasmus mobility enables young professionals trained at HELHa to develop not only technical and professional skills, but also the intercultural and interpersonal skills (soft skills) that are essential for a successful career. HELHa also makes a point of supporting the mobility of its academic and administrative staff, to give them the opportunity to continue developing their skills and open up to other practices. The mobility of academic staff is also an opportunity to internationalize the curricula by implementing pratices discovered abroad and activities in English.
