Objectives

The Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) aims to encourage as many students as possible to engage in an international mobility activity before the end of their studies, ensuring that these mobilities are of high quality, academically beneficial, and contribute to personal development. ULB places a strong emphasis on long-term mobilities, which are accessible to all faculties at least once per degree program, but also responds to the growing demand for internships abroad, including opportunities for recent graduates. More recently, ULB has also started offering numerous short-term mobility opportunities through BIPs. The goal is to offer as many formats as possible to suit different student profiles. At the same time, ULB also aims to encourage administrative and academic staff to participate in mobility programs, not only to involve the entire community in the internationalization strategy, but also because we believe that mobile staff are better equipped to then encourage students to go abroad. Internationalization is at the forefront of ULB's overall strategy, and the AC131 mobilities help to maintain exchanges and relationships with hundreds of partners in Europe and beyond. ULB is thus well-represented in the European landscape. Hosting students and staff at ULB, beyond balancing mobility flows, also allows local students to benefit from an international experience at home, for those who do not wish to take advantage of mobility opportunities. Finally, through this project, ULB seeks to further strengthen its ties in particular with the partners of the European alliance “CIVIS”, through enhanced long-term mobility opportunities and Blended Intensive Programs. Through these BIPs and intra-alliance staff mobility, we hope to bring academic actors closer together with the ultimate goal of long-term collaboration on joint master's degrees, double degrees, or multiple degrees projects, thereby enhancing the academic offer available to ULB students.
