The MiGreenDEAL project aimed to promote environmental sustainability and combat climate change by introducing innovative practices and digital tools in Adult Education. It focused on empowering young adult migrants, educators, and community leaders to become agents of change through Transformative Learning and the development of green skills. To achieve this, the project: • Established quality assurance mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation • Defined a competency framework for raising environmental awareness among young migrants • Developed an ICT-based educational tool with interactive activities for educators and mediators • Created a gamified digital tool to engage young migrants in sustainable practices • Designed practical resources and exercises for professionals working with migrants • Conducted pilot testing and adaptation of tools and methodologies • Ensured widespread dissemination and long-term sustainability of project outcomes
We applied for the MiGreenDEAL project to seize the momentum of the European Green Deal and ensure that all groups—including young migrants, an often overlooked population—are included in the transition to a more sustainable future. MiGreenDEAL project has responded to this gap by equipping adult educators, community leaders, and mediators with innovative tools and transformative learning methods to raise environmental awareness and green skills among young migrants. So, professionals gained capacity building, while migrants and learners were empowered in terms of environmental awareness, green skills and sustainable entrepreneurship competences as well as preparedness for the emerging green job market. In a nutshell, MiGreenDeal project promoted equity, inclusion, and sustainability, contributing to the just transition toward a common greener future.
