Objectives

Enhancing digital competence: in a world increasingly dependent on technology, it is crucial to familiarize young people with various digital tools and platforms. By offering hands-on experience and workshops, we wanted to enhance their ability to move safely and effectively in a digital society. Developing people skills: both personal and professional success relies heavily on communication, empathy and collaboration. Therefore, we exposed our students to various social situations, teaching them to listen, negotiate, lead and follow - all skills that are invaluable in any environment. Multilingualism was another pillar of the project, driven by the realisation that language barriers can lead to misunderstandings and limit opportunities. By immersing participants in a multilingual environment, we aimed to increase their confidence to communicate effectively in different languages and cultural contexts. In addition, increasing knowledge around the European Union was central. Understanding the EU and how it works is invaluable in an increasingly globalised world.

Background

Erasmus De Pinte has participated in exchange projects within the framework of Erasmus+ since 2019. These aim to promote international cooperation and cultural exchange. Our students have the opportunity to take part in exciting exchange programmes with schools in Spain and Germany. These projects offer students a unique opportunity to broaden their horizons, discover new cultures and build intercultural competences. They are immersed in the daily routine of their host country and experience the rich diversity of Europe. This promotes not only understanding and tolerance, but also personal growth and self-confidence. The Erasmus+ programme enables us to involve our students in thematic projects ranging from language learning and cultural awareness to sustainability and digitalisation. These projects encourage not only the learning of academic content, but also the development of important life skills such as communication, cooperation and adaptability.
