Objectives

With this international project 'On the move to', we wanted to achieve two objectives from our Erasmus plan in particular. 1) We wanted to strengthen our participants' learning motivation, self-esteem, self-confidence and well-being. By visiting the German school, we challenged our pupils to discover and use their talents. They had to get to know themselves and thus experience where their strengths and working points lie. This was to increase and strengthen their self-image. It would also give them self-confidence when they discover that certain things they do better than others. This project was also supposed to provide a sense of well-being. The positive feedback they usually receive from supervisors and external evaluators will give their self-confidence a strong boost 2) We wanted to further develop communication and social skills in our participants. With this initiative, we wanted to hone European key competences in our students. Personal, social and communicative competence are definitely among them. In the preparation, but certainly also during the mobility, our pupils were constantly challenged to cooperate and communicate with acquaintances and strangers.

Background

For more than 10 years, we have been actively pursuing internationalisation at Campos Turnhout. Offering our students international experiences is a pillar of our quality policy. Our target in third grade is to offer all our final-year students a foreign project. For our tso students (double finality) this is a three-week foreign internship, for our aso students (transfer finality) it is a school exchange. We acquired accreditation for our international internships a few years ago. The aso pillar within our internationalisation consists of bringing our aso pupils into contact with foreign peers. We have been doing this for several years through a visit to a foreign school and a return visit. The exchange always takes place within a certain theme, related to the field of study of the pupils involved. During the corona period, we worked out a project with a German, Italian and Estonian school (4Steps4Health). As the cooperation with the German school went well, we further engaged with this school in Siegen (West Germany). You can read the results of our joint project last school year in this Final Report.
