Objectives

At Antwerp Maritime Academy (AMA), we believe that the Erasmus+ programme plays a pivotal role in supporting the three foundational missions of higher education institutions in Flanders: education, research, and social service. Through Erasmus+ mobility, we harness the transformative potential to enhance the professional, social, and intercultural competencies of individuals, significantly contributing to the advancement of these pillars. Our Erasmus+ projects have enabled us to modernize teaching content and optimize organizational structures in response to the evolving educational landscape. Co-tuition, a key tool within Erasmus+, has provided invaluable insights into innovative teaching methodologies and administrative practices, fostering a dynamic learning environment for both students and staff. Erasmus+ also serves as a catalyst for the internationalization of our research initiatives. By facilitating research internships and creating opportunities for informal learning, the programme empowers students and staff to develop crucial research skills. These collaborations enrich AMA’s research efforts, promoting interdisciplinary projects that contribute to global knowledge exchange. In alignment with our mission of social service, AMA leverages Erasmus+ to strengthen partnerships through professional training courses. These collaborations enhance the quality of our services, promote community engagement, and support the broader goal of social service delivery.
