Objectives

This mobility project is a bottom-up collaboration that has been initiated by the academics of both Schools of Arts, who know each other very well through their collaboration with Cilect, the international network of film schools. With this mobility project we wanted to create a stable, reciprocal collaboration between the Schools or Arts of both Université Saint Joseph (USJ) and Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts (EhB) as a complement to the existing partnership for outgoing student mobility (funded under other mobility schemes). The Erasmus+ mobility project allows us to mutually exchange students and to add staff exchanges to our activities. Both partners support each other to learn about different film languages and to captivate differences in culture. The intercultural exchanges, set in the background of Brussels or Beirut, should lead to new young filmmakers with an open mind and a broad horizon. Fostering opportunities for students in cinematography to network in the heart of Europe and the heart of the Middle East mutually enriches them and will be in the long run a support for future international co-production between European and Mediterranean cinema.
