With this ERASMUS+ KA171 project, VIVES University of Applied Sciences gave tangible form to its take on Global Engagement and reciprocal partnerships in both entities, VIVES North (BE BRUGGE11) and VIVEZ South (B KORTRIJ01). Students and staff were encouraged to become active global citizens through collaboration with institutions outside Europe, which enriched the curriculum with diverse perspectives. International relations with partners in two different (for E+ VIVES North) regions were deepened, with an emphasis on reciprocity. Thanks to the KA171 grants, the incoming mobility of students and teachers increased, especially from low- and middle-income countries. In addition to mobility, the focus was on curricular cooperation, such as joint program development and knowledge sharing. Due to budget constraints, innovative forms of internationalisation were developed, such as virtual exchange and COIL. Finally, this project strengthened VIVES' international positioning through broad participation in various international initiatives.
