After almost two years of "forced break" in organizing international mobility projects as youth exchanges, we were excited to relaunch this dynamic with young people invested in our organization and with foreign partners with whom we had already collaborated in the past. The idea of this youth exchange was born during a workshop evaluating summer 2021 projects. Through this, a discussion emerged on how to “overcome the fear of others, to force the encounter” in an intercultural context. The term interculturality is very often mentioned in our associations but is everyone well aware of its meaning? What are the factors that characterize my identity? What are our common roots? What do I share with all other human beings? How can I be both unique and at the same time the product of a collective history? So many questions that were adressed in the different workshops of the project. Through Crossroads, we wanted to discuss with the participants their opinions regarding their cultural identity. The aim was to raise participants' awareness about identity issues and the fight against prejudice while making them aware of the richness of diversity. “Crossroads”, through a series of workshops built on non-formal education concepts and theater as technique of creative expression, was intended to nourish a reflection with the participants which could later be deepened by the young people and their organizations. Alongside this transversal thematic axis, our project was built as an educational activity aiming at encourage participants to get involved in a collective and participative dynamic in an international and intercultural context It thus constituted a space of experimentation where everyone could carry out a series of learning and develop different skills which contribute to their emancipation and to enrich the organisations invested in the project.
