Objectives

Our main project was to organize a seminar, permitting the exchange of experience and good practices between youth workers involved in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the European Solidarity Corps long term volunteering activities. Our seminar aimed to offer the youth workers new perspectives and inspiration in order to : - Encourage living and acting together of ESC volunteers, hosted at a same place during a same period. - Encourage the intercultural learning and the local impact of the ESC volunteering projects. - Enhance the networking of volunteers, through digital modern tools. - Encourage citizen and social activism, by creating collective action on common values. The seminar had to permit these workers to exchange about their realities, success stories, challenges. During five days of meeting (arrival and departure included) each of them should gain ideas and wishes, but also new elements of analysis and tools that could be useful in their daily work with young people involved in the European Solidarity Corps. In line with the ERASMUS+ programme, our seminar had to contribute to : - The priority “Inclusion and Diversity”. The participation to the seminar should foster the ability of youth workers to make the volunteers more aware of the richness of their cultural and social diversity, as well as to be able to better take into account the needs, and fragilities of some of them. - The priority “Digital transformation”. Our seminar supported the discovering and the dissemination of the communication platform and mobile application ESC Buddy, that permit to centralize the tasks and notifications communicated to volunteers, to invite them to meetings and events, to get a better understanding of different stakeholders of their role (supervisor, tutor…), to encourage their use of the OLS and to ensure the recognition of their learnings thanks to the Youth Pass. - The priority “Environment and fight against climate change”. By tackling the questions of the living together and living locally, our seminar had to help the participants to share ideas about the best ways to encourage volunteers to sustainable actions like energy savings, reduction of waste, local and seasonal food, the participation to activities permitting protection of local environment. - The priority “Participation in democratic life”. Our seminar aimed to encourage a collective approach of the volunteers hosted on different individual projects. By collective approach and actions, we meant to support the volunteers to organize themselves around common values and goals and work together to increase social impact.
