In this project, the Human Rights Education Youth Network and its members sought to address the negative trends that had eroded human rights practices in the field of youth work. They aimed to achieve this by creating educational opportunities and developing non-formal learning tools that could be replicated, with the specific goal of strengthening human rights advocacy and education in youth work, particularly in relation to the rights of minority youth. Consequently, the primary objective of the project was to rejuvenate the role of youth work in promoting the rights of minority youth by promoting a human rights-based approach and providing member organizations with the necessary tools to operate effectively in the field. To attain this goal, HREYN established the following project objectives: - Trained youth workers, especially those working closely with minority youth, in the use of specific tools to empower and advocate for minority youth. - Provided youth workers with tools for referencing, addressing grievances, and monitoring the human rights of minority youth. - Enhanced the willingness of youth workers to engage with and offer tailored opportunities to minority youth. - Strengthened the capacity of organizations offering youth work services to expand their reach to minority youth by integrating standardized operating procedures and establishing connections with other civil society actors and government institutions advocating for minority rights. Through this project proposal, the consortium aimed to significantly enhance the organizational capacities required to reach out to minority, underprivileged, and disadvantaged youth populations. They intended to provide tailored youth work services and activities rooted in a human rights-based approach, thus empowering young people to access their social rights.
