Background

The "Animatopedia" project was designed to address the growing need for gender equality education, particularly in the context of youth, and the pressing issues of sex-based discrimination and harassment. The project aimed to equip young people, especially those from vulnerable backgrounds, with the knowledge and tools to recognize and prevent discrimination in both online and offline spaces. The partner organizations, including Welcome Home International (WHI), SYNTHESIS, TIA Formazione, ATERMON, and FAJUB, recognized the importance of creating accessible, engaging, and interactive educational content to address these critical issues. Through this partnership, the organizations sought to promote social inclusion, combat gender stereotypes, and empower youth workers with the necessary resources to engage young people in meaningful discussions about gender equality and harassment. The project’s comprehensive approach, which includes digital tools like interactive videos, toolkits, and webinars, ensures that youth in multiple countries are reached, with materials tailored to local needs while contributing to a broader European initiative.
