We created and implemented this project because we wanted to raise awareness among people in Europe about the situation of LGBT youth in Europe and the importants of their rights. Through the activities and results of this project we aimed to contribute towards puting an end to hate speech, to accept and include LGBTQ people in society, as well as to encourage people to be more active in their communities and use storytelling and short films as a method for activism. Our project’s objectives were: - The participants gain more knowledge and develop new skills regarding discrimination, stereotypes and prejudice of the LGBTQ community; - Empathy for the hate speech victims and their personal, professional and social development; - Encouraging a nondiscrimination inclusive speech and approach of the LGBTQ on every level, particularly on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, as the only appropriate method of communication and of dealing with conflicts. - Encouraging young people's active participation in society, particularly to empower LGBTQ youth to take an active role in their communities in fighting homophobia and discrimination; - Promoting the use of storytelling as a tool for gaining attention and presenting your message to the world; -Offering the space and tools for the participants to gain new digital competences and encouraging them to use these skills to seek employment.
