Objectives

TBNTB wanted to promote interreligious and interconvictional dialogue through educational tools that promote an active, committed and participatory citizenship, using Theatre of the Oppressed as a tool to transform. By doing so, TBNTB wanted to support the inclusion of groups with fewer opportunities and counteract the increase in hate speech and discrimination towards (religious) minorities.

Background

To Believe or Not To Believe (TBNTB) was born from the plural context in which we live. Cultural diversity is a reality in society, and religious pluralism is a natural part of it, encompassing both believers of different religious traditions and non-believers. The issue of interiority and faith, religion and convictions is an extremely important topic that is often hidden or not worked on in the field of youth work. This can lead to feelings of insecurity among young people in the face of hate speeches that are increasingly present in our pluralistic Europe. In TBNTB Axcent, Red Incola and Giolli wanted to create spaces for cohesion and dialogue with young people and promote coexistence in a pluralistic society. In TBNTB we wanted to explore transformative methodologies like Theatre of the Oppressed, introduce them in the field of interconvictional dialogue and adapt them to the needs of young people, especially first and second generation young migrants.
