The first goal of the project was to learn effective practices for teaching and learning when conducting blended learning - alternating distance learning in an electronic environment with face-to-face learning. In addition, the main objective of the course "Blended Learning: Connecting the Remote Face-to-Face Teaching " was to guide teachers in developing successful blended learning practices. Other objectives of the course were: the participants' acquisition of a practical skill on how blended learning can help students develop competencies such as autonomy, problem solving, critical thinking, as well as a sense of self-efficacy. The second goal of the project was to modernize and increase the quality of school management during online learning and to get as close as possible to that during face-to-face learning. It was mentioned in the course, namely sharing ideas and good practices for managing the school during online learning.
Students from the I to the XII grade i.e. from seven- to nineteen-year-old are taught at school. There are 3 classes per grade from the I to the VII grade, while in the II and in the IV grades there are 4 classes, and from the VIII to the XII grade - 2 classes each. School education takes place in the following forms: daily education - 674 students, self-contained education - 4 students and individual education - 6 students. All-day organization of the learning process is provided for students from the I to the VII grade. The school teaches children from the family-type accommodation center in the town of Pavlikeni, as well as students with SEN. In addition, Since the school is also a central school for some villages, there are a large number of minority students. In addition, elementary school students are having the most difficulty transitioning to online learning, due to the Covid-pandemic, which suggests looking for ways to bring its effectiveness closer to that of face-to-face learning. Participating in the course "Blended Learning: Connecting the Remote Face-to-Face Teaching " helped participants gain practical skills on how blended learning supports students to develop critical thinking, problem solving and independence.
