Objectives

Regarding the School's Strategy and the European Development Plan, the gymnasium aims to cultivate responsible individuals who are knowledgeable and capable, achieved through qualified staff. In this context, the set goals related to scientific, pedagogical, and methodical preparation across various disciplines were justified. The leadership's abilities to address classroom challenges, creativity in teaching and management were also improved. Course participants, representatives from various methodological associations, took care of preparing the teaching staff to implement what they learned in every classroom. More motivated teachers can contribute to a higher level of functional literacy in various knowledge areas, making the school a more attractive place for young people. Here, teachers offer a new approach to teaching, focusing on each child's potential for active participation in the learning process. The goal is to reduce monotonous classroom practices. New technologies and teaching methods influence the development of emotional intelligence in students, improve the classroom atmosphere, and prioritize the child's personality. Project-based work attracts new teachers.

Background

The 33. Language School establishes itself as one of the most prestigious institutions in the territory of Sofia. Faced with continuous changes in education, we need to be adaptive and make changes in the educational process. The isolation of students during the pandemic led to more problems with bullying and violence, and thus the necessary scenario for handling conflicts to improve the school's microclimate. We are all aware that ICT (Information and Communication Technology) aids in learning, but after the Blended Learning course - Connecting Remote and Face-to-Face, we acquired knowledge of the applications necessary for blended learning. In our school, there are students on an individual basis, and the acquired skills contribute to higher-quality education. We also had a participant in a course related to drama in foreign language learning - through emotional transformations, communication skills and teamwork are improved because the actor's toolbox offers various tools - voice, imagination, concentration, cooperation. We also started implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) practices - one of the challenges of the 21st century - how to plan such a lesson, how to assess students.
