Objectives

The successful implementation of the project contributeеа to the achievement of the three goals set in it: - Development of students' professional competences with an emphasis on digital and green skills for successful implementation on the European labor market; - Modernization of curricula and introduction of modern teaching methods for higher efficiency of VET; - Promoting transnational partnerships with the labor sector to overcome skills shortages in Europe. The implementation of the project goals allowed us to educate highly qualified and competitive young specialists, meeting the needs of new business realities and motivated to practice the studied profession. All this raised the image of the school in the region and contributed to attracting more students to PGMET in the current school year.

Background

For more than 60 years, PGMET provides education in electrical engineering, and in order to maintain high quality and efficiency of VET, the main priority of the school is to support students’ internships in a real working environment so as to overcome the skills shortages in the studied professions and to update curricula according to the needs of the European business. With the implementation of the current project, we developed the professional skills and competences of 20 students from grades 10 and 11 in the field of green energy, sustainable mobility, design, programming and maintenance of robots and robotic systems, by conducting a two-week internship at the innovative Italian company Digital Green Jobs that provides ICT and green consulting services for sustainable business growth in Padua, Italy. In doing so, we have helped to increase their competitiveness and adaptability in an era of digital and "green" transformation of the labor market. The practice took place in the period 10-21.7.2023 with the support of the Fenice Renewable Energy Park. During the mobility, two teachers observed the work process and updated their knowledge through direct contact with the business, bringing what they learned in the classroom.
