In accordance with the goals set in the project proposal, the management of the high school aimed first of all to increase the quality of initial vocational education and training. Approaches to achieve the goal are to strengthen the necessary for participants' future work key competences, language learning and digital skills. During their stay trainees received the support of mentors, enabling them to develop specialized work skills. Best practices in the field of planning, organization, implementation and control of all activities related to tourism, as well as the role of digital technologies for better organization and efficiency of management activity were shared. Acquainting students with the possibilities of digital technologies for customer profiling and market segmentation was of particular importance.The second objective was to promote knowledge of shared European heritage and diversity. The approach to achieve this objective was to enable students through conversations at and outside of their workplaces to improve their foreign language skills, to communicate freely with representatives of different nationalities, to work in a team.
Our high school prepares personnel for the main range of activities in the field of tourism - hoteliers, restaurateurs, organizers of catering activities, organizers of free time of tourists, producers of bakery and confectionery products. By the beginning of 2020 (the beginning of Covid epidemic) tourism demanded employees for basic activities, then, in the conditions of a pandemic, branch organizations began to look for specialists with broad-ranging skills. Statistics show that in the conditions of Covid the main competitive advantage for tourism enterprises has become the digitization of services and activities in dealing with customers.The idea and objective of the project proposal was participants to become aware of advantages of the application of digital technologies in the field of basic tourist services in real working environment. This way they built on knowledge and skills acquired during classes in theory of the profession and Information technologies.What was learned during the mobility set the stage for adapting to the new realities and the new demand in the labor market.
