Objectives

This project aims at 20 students from 10th and 11th grade, studying in the specialties related to hotel and restaurant management to engage in international mobility to build and further develop digital competences in tourism and foreign language communication skills. The focus of digital competencies will be on online booking and orders completion in the restaurant business; online customer service, customer personalization, online booking and use of the VR application in the hotel system. Our belief is that the knowledge gained by the beneficiaries will meet the needs of the labor market, as well as is necessary for successful career pathways in the following years. Upon completion of the project, beneficiaries will assist their classmates in mastering these competencies. The inclusion of 5 children from socially disadvantaged families will lead to their faster professional development and social inequality overcoming.

Background

In order to meet the tourism business needs in training solutions, PGT monitors innovations in the sector and seeks paths to bring them into training. Considering the impact of digitalization on tourism we realize that the digital skills of the students are a key factor for successful career pathways in the following years. PGT has already introduced initial basic training for students working with specialized software. An ability to work with specialized software does not cover the whole set of digital competencies related to the use of IT in tourism. An internship conducted in a developed tourist destination (e.g. Italy) will enable students studying in the specialties related to hotel and restaurant business to develop their software skills; to master the digital skills for customer service and to develop their foreign language communication skills
