The primary objective of the project is to foster a deeper understanding between young people from Balkan countries, encouraging dialogue and cooperation. By focusing on shared traditions, history, and culture, the project seeks to counteract negative stereotypes and contribute to long-term peace and reconciliation in the region. Specific objectives include developing tools and activities that promote tolerance and civic engagement among youth.
The project "Meet Our Neighbours 2" was developed to address the problem of persistent stereotypes and prejudices between people from different Balkan countries. These stereotypes, we can say, are perpetuated through educational policies and the media and have contributed greatly to the divisions and conflicts in the region. The project aims to engage young people from different Balkan countries to help overcome these historically layered perceptions and promote common European values such as tolerance, respect and human rights.
