Research has shown that teachers experience more stress than most other workers. At the same time, students also frequently report the negative impact of stress on their mood, behaviour and academic performance. Our primary concern was to find ways and mechanisms to reduce this stress and turn it into creation. Based on the special characteristics of our own school unit, we made sure that teachers were given effective tools and strategies to deal with their own stress and the stress of their students. Through hands-on activities, participants learned how to nurture their own well-being and maintain a positive classroom climate. A key concern was the introduction to the effects of stress and anxiety on learning and effectively helping students to prevent and manage stress. Participants also had the opportunity to focus on emotional intelligence and emotional regulation as a powerful stress coping skill, as well as their mental and physical well-being as part of their daily routine at school.
Our school is a small Regional Primary School outside the city. All the teachers who serve in it are particularly aware of issues concerning the use of new methods and tools in the classroom and for this purpose they participate whenever they are given the opportunity in educational activities. The collaborations through the etwinning and Erasmus + programs that we have been participating in for years as educators, but also as an organization in the last 3 years, give us such possibilities. Our main goal is to bring our school closer to new methods of Teaching and Organization, to introduce the use of new tools, to promote cooperation and creativity that will bring about the overall improvement in our organization. Always focusing on our students, we carry out actions whenever we are given the opportunity, either during the lessons or by organizing conferences, lectures, workshops, involving the community as well.
