Objectives

Over time the teachers' training should be upgraded and the teachers should be trained systematically. It is important to offer continuous training of the staff with new seminars and lectures by using continuous education, rehabilitation and independence of the children. The modernization of the methods of treatment and teaching is a necessity. Upgrading these programs has a direct impact on the students of our school , as they face many problems and our main goal and task is to minimize them and give them comfort through any new scientific intervention. Also the newly acquired knowledge also helped the rest of our personnel since all the educators/therapists participating to the courses inform and train the rest of our staff involved in the pupils programs and therapies. They also inform and train the parents about the new methods and techniques applied to the therapies of the students so that the program will have a continuity after school also. The project also had another goal. To give the opportunity to our students to participate in European educational programs in order to feel and equal and included in the educational community but also to have the chance to broaden their horizon by exchanging cultural customs with others

Background

The most fundamental goal of our school, which was covered by these courses and training activities, is the specialized provision and support of our students' needs and the systematic scientific upgrade of the teachers and therapists involved in their daily routines. Most of the seminars provided are expensive and not easily accessible so this project gave our school personnel the chance to further extent their professional knowledge on specialized seminars and bring back the newly acquired knowledge and skills to our students and colleagues. The group mobility offered our students the opportunity to strengthen their sense of inclusion and their European identity along with their belonging to the wider European students community. They also worked and exchanged experiences with their peers as equals but also informed and were informed also about cultural customs and traditions, consequently broadening their cultural diversity. The educators accompanying the students but also the had the opportunity to observe, study and exchange good practices with their colleagues in the hosting school. The job shadowing mobility offered the chance to our Head Master to bring back good practices regarding Special School's management.
