Objectives

We set three main goals that we wanted to implement through this Program. The first objective was the development of competent and employable graduates. We wanted to give students the opportunity to participate in an internship in Europe/job shadowing, during which they will experience practical examples of what they have learned and practiced in school, thus building professional skills, learning about the prospects offered in the European labor market of the sector them and updating their knowledge. Practitioners in such professional environments will realize the competition and the need to constantly acquire and cultivate new skills. In addition, contact with different cultures, attitudes and customs, which will help them develop cultural intelligence. They will also enrich their personal and social skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and efficiently, thanks to their work experience as part of a multicultural team. Communicating in a foreign language will help them improve their language skills and enrich their knowledge of terminology in their specific field of study.

Background

The 3rd Technical and Vocational School of Education and Training (TESEK) of Limassol aims to develop specialized, suitably qualified and flexible human resources through the training of male and female students in basic skills, but also in special professional knowledge. This education is offered in two directions, Theoretical and Practical, through specific branches and specializations. Specifically, there are the following branches: hotel and catering professions branch, electrical engineering and electronic applications branch, applied arts branch and agriculture branch. Through our participation in this Program we aim to develop competent and employable graduates, train teaching staff to provide students with high quality teaching and expand our European footprint. Considering that the majority of students who attend our school are students who come from a low socio-economic background, we want to give them more opportunities through the Program.
