Objectives and reasoning behind them clarifying what is to be achieved is as Follows: We have had 4 objectives covered by the activities implemented A1-)Objective 1 : In order to address the need of improvement of the quality of volunteering projects in which young people participate and learn, grow and develop, we believe there is a need to support youth workers by recognising youth work. Therefore we aim to promote and raise awareness regarding this matter. In several countries and in specific Cyprus there is a very low recognition of Youth work. This is due to the lack of a critical mass of youthworkers that are professionally involved in youth work (which also works vise-versa). The recognition of youth work will eventually create more job placements resulting in an increase in the numbers of practitioners. It youth work is recognised and the need of youthworkers elevates then the quality will also rise. For this to be achieved both recognition and quality need to be gradually and parallel achieved. The needs explained will be addressed through achieving the mentioned objective since we are focusing specifically on ESC projects. Objective 2 : This objective is linked with the general need for improvement of the quality of volunteering activities implementation to train youth workers in non formal methodology regarding mentoring and coordination of volunteering projects, to discuss and better define the meaning of volunteering and the rights and responsibilities of volunteers (specifically within the framework of ESC); the role of coordinating/hosting/sending organisations; and the role of the mentor; and to develop and exchange (common) good-practices and tools. It is also linked with the every day to day implementation of projects since coordinators and mentors are in direct contact and support of the volunteers. The quality with which this engagement and interaction is achieved defines the quality of the project implemented. With in our trainings we present a 9 step volunteering management model as a base of quality volunteering management process, which can be adapted and adjusted to individual needs of organisations. Objective 3 : According to the European Youth Foundation (EYF), established by the Council of Europe, non-formal education, along with formal and informal education, are mutually reinforcing and complementary elements of a lifelong learning process. However, non-formal education achievements are usually difficult to certify, even if their social recognition is increasing. Therefore our objective to promote non formal methodology and education among young people and adults is connected with the need to recognise the achievements of non-formal education and also train youth workers in non formal methodology regarding mentoring and coordination of volunteering projects in order to enhance the quality of volunteering projects. We will base our activities on the European Training Strategy (ETS) Key Competences since this is a tool used, supported and gradually developed specifically for youth work. Competences explained and developed within the ETS will be included in our curriculum of activities.
