Objectives

By implementing this project we wanted to tackle the topic of emotional intelligence, as we realized it’s a way for us and the society in general to understand, use, and manage emotions in positive ways. The main objective was to learn about the most important components of emotional intelligence, the reasons why it’s important and how it can benefit us and the societies we live in. We wanted to work on how to feel instead of suppressing emotions, as well as understanding and communicating emotions through the practice of introspection, meditation, creative expression and non formal methods. Another objective was to learn how to control and deal with difficult emotions, like stress, anxiety or self criticism. We wanted to help the participants identify the needs behind their emotions and learn how to use them to their advantage, for greater self-understanding and self-discovery and defining needs and future plans. Also, we wanted to learn how to resolve conflicts and communicate better using nonviolent communication, as well as provide inspiration for further research into the topic and to include emotional intelligence practices in our daily lives. By exploring the hidden powers of emotional intelligence and empathy, we wanted to foster creating strong social bonds in our personal lives and building employability skills in our professional lives.
