Art has the power to shape society by altering viewpoints, imparting values, and conveying experiences across distances and eras. In essence, art serves as a form of communication, enabling individuals from various cultures and historical periods to connect through images, sounds, and narratives. Each country across the globe possesses its own distinct and relatable cultural heritage and artistic expressions. Young people in our organizations are interested in engaging in diverse artistic pursuits to express themselves. In the "Euroarts" project, our aim was to promote greater mutual understanding and tolerance among young people from various cultural backgrounds while combating prejudices and discrimination. Our project structure was created on non-formal education as its foundation, giving participants the chance to explore the vision of EU Youth Goals: creating inclusive societies and fostering a deeper appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism. Additionally, participants organized a local cultural event to convey the importance of embracing cultural diversity to a wider audience within their community. The field of arts is often underestimated and perceived as less important compared to other disciplines. Many young individuals prematurely abandon the arts in their formative years, swayed by external pressures or a lack of understanding of their own passions. The result is a generation unsure of their preferences, often succumbing to parental influence when choosing a career path. The “Euroarts” aimed to challenge these notions by demonstrating that the arts have the power to generate genuine positive impacts on individuals and communities. Throughout this youth exchange, we immersed ourselves in a myriad of artistic endeavors, exploring painting, photography, dancing, music, and acting. By cooperating and engaging in diverse non-formal activities, we not only deepened our appreciation for the arts but also gained a clearer understanding of our strengths, preferences, and aspirations. Beyond personal enrichment, this activity also aimed to discover ways for the usage of arts as potent tools for community transformation. Participants joined this journey through the seas of imagination, creativity, and self-discovery! Together, we challenged stereotypes and unlock the potential of the arts for positive impact.
