The main aim of the project was to empower youth with entrepreneurial and digital skills, – generating future citizens that are equipped with the digital skills and means to develop their entrepreneurial ideas, be innovative, and make a positive change. The objectives of GameYES were to: • Promote transnational and cross-sectoral collaborations for enhancing of entrepreneurship skills and mindsets among youth via a, currently-absent, digitally enhanced and gamified experience based on the EntreComp framework • Utilise co-creation methods involving youth practitioners and youth for the development of innovative curriculum, digitalised resources and a mobile application game • Make gaming competences more pedagogic, interactive and informative in enhancing entrepreneurial skills. • Transfer knowledge and good practices for creating the EU society of the future, with young citizens that are entrepreneurial-oriented.
The lack of opportunities for youth to engage in entrepreneurship through digital means poses a challenge to Europe’s economic and social future. GameYES addressed this by equipping young people with essential entrepreneurial skills, digital literacy, and innovative thinking, empowering them to become active contributors to society and the economy. While entrepreneurship education is a key driver of innovation and business creation, our current educational systems, often, does not provide curricula towards that direction. Reports highlight the urgent need for hands-on, simulated experiences to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets and digital competencies among youth. GameYES bridged this gap by integrating entrepreneurship education with gamification, leveraging digital tools to enhance learning and engagement. The project focused on: • Developing entrepreneurial skills through gamified methods. • Enhancing motivation with gamification pedagogies. • Integrating expert and youth feedback via participatory research. Aligned with the European EntreComp framework, GameYES digitized an innovative curriculum and make it accessible across five EU countries. This will drive economic growth and prepare Europe’s future leaders.
