Objectives

Facing challenges linked to broader issues in the Czech Republic, such as limited support for employment of disadvantaged groups, insufficient involvement and unstable funding for civil society organisations, inadequate implementation of inclusive education reforms, and a need for more teacher training to support pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, we set forth these project objectives: 1) To increase our ability to develop and deliver a curriculum on resilience and regenerative community development in order to strengthen communities and local civic engagement. 2) To empower marginalised and disadvantaged learners to take on civil society and educational leadership roles by creating dedicated learning spaces. 3) To strengthen our program supporting adult educators in the creation of inclusive learning environments through the up-skilling of our staff. 4) To create more professional skill development opportunities and increase collaboration skills of our staff to ensure the highest, European quality of our educational provision for our learners.

Background

Nesehnuti is an adult education organisation that focuses on civic engagement and empowerment programs for local communities. Its main activities include various types of informal learning, such as cultural events, tutoring, mentoring, workshops, experience exchanges, and trainings. With over 25 years of experience, the organisation works with adult learners aged 18 to 60, coming from diverse backgrounds including migrants and other communities affected by discrimination and limited opportunities (LGBTQI+ community, rural communities, non-EU state local communities, women), as well as the general public and individuals working in a wide range of institutions (schools, administration - local and national, universities, local councils, and others). The project entailed a comprehensive plan designed for the organisation's growth, aimed at benefiting our learners. It utilised the organisation's previous experience with European projects to manage, implement, and evaluate the initiative.
