Objectives

In implementing this project, our intention was not only to elevate the quality and content of our programs but also to adapt to the rapidly changing scientific and educational environment, maximizing the educational potential of our science center for adult visitors. We recognize that while our local perspective is profound and relevant, it can be further enriched by an international viewpoint. We approach international best practices not only to gain new knowledge but also to acquire experiences and inspirations that can help us better understand and evaluate our own processes and methods. We believe that by drawing these international comparisons, we can better understand our strengths and identify areas for further growth and development. In this project, we focused on several key areas: program expansion, technological innovations in displays, fostering collaborations, and establishing a good reputation for our institution abroad. Our specific objectives included focusing on open workshop spaces, renewing exhibitions, and achieving greater financial independence for our center. Besides addressing the primary needs of our institution, we aimed to draw inspiration from various specialized areas.

Background

This year, VIDA! science center in Brno will celebrate its ninth anniversary. The centre is operated by the Moravian Science Centre Brno, a grant-funded organization, and is focused on entertaining scientific activities and informal education in technology and natural sciences. The center presents over 180 interactive exhibits that encourage exploration and understanding of the world. In 2019, we expanded with an outdoor space and regularly add temporary exhibitions to our main display. Our events include science shows, educational programs, and activities for adults. We also participate in science festivals both locally and internationally. We firmly believe that the real potential of every organization lies in its individual members. Through the personal and professional development of our employees, we can not only continue to grow but also deepen our connection with visitors. Aligned with this vision, we strive for projects that propel us forward, expand our horizons, and enable us to provide even higher quality services to our visitors. The project we've just completed has helped advance our organization as a whole. This investment has not only furthered our operations but also provided a fresh perspective on the organization'
