By participating in the project we wanted to improve the communication skills of the staff and their written expression in English. The aim is to enable the teachers to communicate in English with the new families, with parents and, in the case of other European projects, also with partners from abroad. By communicating seamlessly with families who speak English, this will improve the care of their children in the kindergarten and the contact between school and parent. Furthermore, we wanted to improve communication skills in the Italian language so that normal communication with a native speaker would be possible, with whom we want to start cooperation on an Italian language club for children. By offering an Italian language club, we will thus teach children their first "foreign" language that is not learned by the immersion method from parents or in a bilingual kindergarten.
Our organization is an international kindergarten that focuses on the education of children in Czech and German language. An increasing number of families have English as one language of communication and our employees are forced to communicate more and more with parents in English. Within the framework of the project we have managed to improve the language skills of our staff, both in spoken and written language. The staff have also, by their own account, gained more practice in communication and have lost their shyness to communicate. The purpose of the Italian language lessons is to extend the afternoon activities offered by the kindergarten to include an Italian language club led by a native speaker. The Italian language club will be offered to parents and children during 2024.
