Working with English software has little appeal for most school staff and pupils. By the project we wanted to teach not only pupils, but also teaching and non-teaching staff to solve simple problems using new English digital technologies. We wanted to improve language skills in 2nd grade students, which are a necessary condition for digital skills in the English language. Our goal was to use digital tools such as eTwinning, Padlet, eBook and others. The goal was to adapt the current pace of development of digital technologies and thereby increase the attractiveness of schools. The task of the international cooperation was the project coordination, preparation and implementation. The intention was to mediate the transfer of experience, to increase the efficiency and management of project in the English language. By implementing the project, we wanted to increase the teaching quality of English language and the linguistic and methodological level.
The elementary school is a fully organized school with grades 1-9 (24 classes). The capacity of the school is 650 pupils. The school provides basic education for children aged 6-15. The challenge of our school is to enable pupils, teaching and non-teaching staff to achieve better electronic maturity. In the field of Information and Communication Technologies we want to use global technological trends purposefully and effectively, create and maintain a clear commitment of the school and invest in strengthening ICT in the school. Among our priorities is using of digital technologies by pupils and by teaching and non-teaching staff. Another challenge and need of our school is to increase the level of the English language among pupils, teaching and non-teaching staff. We see the greatest benefit in implementing face-to-face project activities by establishing personal contact in a foreign school. In our project, we focused on three goals: strengthening of ICT competencies and increasing of English language of 2nd grade pupils, improving the language skills of school employees in English language.
