In the project, we set two main goals, to modernize the forms and contents of teaching in the given subjects and to increase the language competence of the participating teachers. The fulfillment of these goals was conditioned by their participation in foreign educational courses. They became familiar with new trends in the methodology of their subjects, modernized their teaching procedures. The participants gained international experience and established new contacts. The acquired competences and experiences were integrated into the teaching of specific subjects, especially English, Mathematics and Physics. The participants and other teachers of the school are now using new methods and procedures in their teaching, thanks to the sharing and mutual inspiration during the workshop in our school. The participants' professional motivation increased. Mobility participants had the opportunity to communicate intensively in English on a professional and personal level for a week, expanded their vocabulary, expanded their database of educational and CLIL activities. The school's curriculum will be updated in the following school year, i.e. the findings from the project will be incorporated into the content of individual subjects.
Gymnázium Stříbro is a secondary school attended by approx. 330 pupils aged 11-19. The school holds a quality certificate IES and is one of the eminent education providers in our region, mainly due to the excellent success rate of our students at final exams, successes in subject competitions, regular international activities, high education standards and family atmosphere. The school offers two fields of study. The eight-year grammar school provides general education and primarily prepares pupils for their university studies. The four-year business academy provides vocational education focused on business, accounting and tourism services. Most of the teachers working at our school teach in both fields of study. The abbreviation GOAS stands for Grammar School and Business Academy Stříbro, the school's website is www.goas.cz. The project "Professional development for GOAS teachers" aimed at the professional development of school teachers, especially at the development of their professional, linguistic and cultural competences. Participation in the project was offered to all 33 teachers, 4 participated.
